Overview
Naya Kanga Peak rises to 5,844m (19,160ft) in Nepal's Langtang region. It is an attractive Himalayan peak suitable for introductory climbers seeking a genuine summit experience with a relatively short approach.
The normal climbing route follows the Northeast Ridge from Kyanjin Gompa through Naya Kanga Base Camp at 4,300m and High Camp at 4,950m before the summit attempt.
The summit route includes approximately 900m of elevation gain from High Camp, with snow and ice terrain ranging from moderate to steep slopes. The summit rewards climbers with views across Nepal and Tibet.

Arrival at Kathmandu Airport followed by transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Kathmandu at approximately 1,350m.

Day 2 Preparation and Briefing in Kathmandu
Preparation day for climbing briefings, last-minute shopping, equipment checks and required formalities before starting the Langtang journey.

Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi at 1,503m via Trishuli. The journey takes approximately 8 hours.

Day 4 Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel
Trek from Syabrubesi through the Langtang Valley toward Lama Hotel at 2,410m. The day's trek takes approximately 8 hours.

Day 5 Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang
Continue trekking through the Langtang Valley to Langtang village at 3,430m. The trek takes approximately 5 hours.

Day 6 Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa
Trek from Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa at 3,830m. The approximately 6-hour route brings the team into the main acclimatization and climbing area.

Day 7 Acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa
Rest and acclimatization at Kyanjin Gompa. Visit the monastery and cheese factory, explore the surrounding area or hike toward Kyangjin Ri at approximately 4,350m.

Day 8 Trek to Naya Kanga Base Camp
Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Naya Kanga Base Camp at 4,300m. The route takes approximately 6 hours and marks the beginning of the climbing phase.

Day 9 Climb to Naya Kanga High Camp
Climb from Naya Kanga Base Camp to High Camp at 4,950m. The ascent takes approximately 6 hours and prepares the team for the summit attempt.

Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu at approximately 1,350m. The journey takes around 6-7 hours and concludes with a farewell dinner and cultural program.

Essential Information
Spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November) are identified as the best periods for Naya Kanga Peak climbing, offering generally favorable conditions for trekking and climbing.
Naya Kanga is considered an accessible introductory Himalayan peak, but the Northeast Ridge includes snow and ice terrain, steep sections and approximately 900m of elevation gain from High Camp, requiring good fitness and climbing preparation.
Three nights of hotel accommodation are provided in Kathmandu. Teahouses are used during the Langtang trek, while camping is used at Naya Kanga Base Camp and High Camp.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided during the trekking and climbing stages. Meals are served at teahouses during trekking and prepared by the expedition kitchen team during the climbing period.

The itinerary progressively ascends from Syabrubesi to Kyanjin Gompa, Base Camp and High Camp. Proper acclimatization, hydration, pacing and awareness of altitude-related symptoms are important before attempting the 5,844m summit.
The normal route follows the Northeast Ridge. From High Camp at 4,950m, the climbing route gains approximately 900m toward the summit and includes snow, ice and ridge terrain with slopes reaching approximately 55 degrees.
